White Peak Virtual Walk
Robert will introduce you to the individual classic habitats found in this area. He will explain how the name White Peak is used to contrast the gentler landscape and lighter limestone rocks of this central area of the Peak District National Park with the darker gritstones and wet peaty moorlands that are seen in the enveloping mass of the Dark Peak.

When you get off the bus he will show you the route you are going to take today on the Ordnance Survey map. From the bus stop you will cross the road and climb over the marked stile to join the footpath for the start of your virtual journey across the White Peak.
You will go straight ahead over one more stile and then cut diagonally left across two more fields and up onto the open plateau. Make sure you have enough warm clothing and waterproofs with you, as the weather changes really quickly!
