A WALK IN THE DARK PEAK

As you walk through the heather, you often hear the call of the RED GROUSE in the wind.

You are walking on dark peaty ground which covers a rock called MILLSTONE GRIT

You will have to cross gurgling UPLAND STREAMS as you make your way over this wild area of the Dark Peak.

With luck it won't rain but you can never be sure in this CLIMATE, so make certain you wear the right gear.

Your walk now carries on through the WHITE PEAK. As your walk passes into the White Peak, you might think about how this area is different from the Dark Peak.

If you are feeling tired, you can have a rest and enjoy the 'Sights & Sounds' of this special place. If you want to tell us about the magic spots you have visited or to look at places that others have visited then go to the MAGIC SPOT GALLERY either by clicking on this link or on the button at the bottom.

After you have learnt all there is to know about the Dark Peak why not visit the imaginary valley of
GROUSEBROOK, and look at the MERMAID POOL.

Keep Walking...
