A WALK IN THE WHITE PEAK

The landscape you pass through is very different from that of the Dark Peak. You may notice the rock which is a hard white rock called
LIMESTONE.

Since leaving the high upland areas, the
RIVERS have now become wider and their rate of flow is much slower. If you keep still and quiet, you may be lucky enough to see a trout jumping clear of the water.

The valleys that you walk through, called
DALES have several rare flowers. The Dales are home to many birds and animals.

If you are tired from your travels, you may want to sit on a grassy slope and simply enjoy the 'Sights and Sounds' of this magic spot. If you want to tell us about the magic spots you have visited or to look at places that others have visited then go to the 'Magic Spot Gallery' by clicking on the link below.

After you have learnt all there is to know about the Dark Peak and the White Peak why not visit the imaginary valley of
GROUSEBROOK, and look at the MERMAID POOL.
